What is EVault?
EVault is a line of software products from i365 Inc that enable disk- and cloud-based backup services for a wide range of environments. Backed by technology from Seagate, an enterprise storage leader, i365 has been at the forefront of local disk and remote storage backup. What does EVault do for me?
EVault technology provides best-in-class backup solutions at a low initial cost, with recurring costs based only on how much data you choose to store. Information backed up through the EVault system is encrypted with a secure key that is unique to your enterprise, ensuring that your data cannot be accessed by any unauthorized individual. What this means for you is that your backups will complete quickly and will be guaranteed to be safe, recoverable, and compliant with any information security regulations your industry requires (like HIPAA or the PCI DSS standard). Data integrity is monitored by Small Type and i365 technicians to ensure that your information is protected as well as it possibly can be. In the event that you lose data, you can run a restore operation right from the EVault control panel or call us and have your Small Type consultant run the operation from our remote command center.
How does EVault work?
The EVault system can work in two different ways to protect your data. For smaller environments or systems where most changed data is relatively small (word processing documents, spreadsheets, etc.), the EVault software can back up directly to the secure remote storage located in i365’s national datacenter network. This solution provides secure and powerful backups at the lowest up-front cost. All you pay is the monthly service charge for the data you back up.
For a larger environment or for large files (such as images and videos) you can purchase an EVault appliance. This appliance will first capture your backup files to its internal hard disk drive and then synchronize that drive with the i365 remote data center. This allows you to back up quickly, thanks to the fast local disk, while also giving you the peace of mind that only secure offsite storage can provide. This solution provides the greatest flexibility for small and medium businesses at a slightly higher initial cost.
For a large enterprise, an EVault solution can be created that provides a mix of appliance- and remote-based storage to suit your individual needs.
